What you need
- 64-bit Windows 10 or 11
- Nothing else: .NET is built in
What Sticky Notes does
The simple desktop notes Windows used to have, with a mascot to keep you company.
Notes on your desktop
- Drag notes anywhere on the desktop and resize them
- Pick light or dark note colors
- Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and bullets
Desktop mascots
- A small mascot sits on your desktop: click it for a new note
- Five to pick from in the tray menu: Mug Boss, Owl Analyst, Punk Note, Pinja Ninja and Nope Cat
Always one click away
- Lives in the tray, next to the clock
- Show or hide all your notes, or start a quick new note, from the tray icon
Your notes stay yours
- Saved only on your PC, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\StickyNotes: no account and no OneDrive
- Every save is written all the way to disk, and the previous save is kept as a backup
- If the notes file is ever damaged, your notes come back from the backup
- Checks this site once a day for a newer version (you can turn that off in the tray menu)
Your notes are saved only on your PC, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\StickyNotes. The only thing Sticky Notes sends anywhere is a once-a-day check of this site for a newer version, with no data about you or your notes (you can turn that off in the tray menu).
