Overkeep ("the Software") is free to use, but it is not open source. By
installing, copying or running the Software, you agree to these terms. If you
don't agree, don't use it.

1. WHAT YOU MAY DO

   You may download and run the Software free of charge, for personal use and
   for work inside your own organization, including on computers that belong
   to your family, your employer or your clients, as long as you are allowed
   to manage them.

2. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO

   You may not:
   a. sell, rent, lease or charge for the Software, or include it in a product
      or service you charge for;
   b. share or publish copies of the Software anywhere except by pointing
      people to the official download at https://bitsbybm.com;
   c. change the Software, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it,
      except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
   d. remove or change any copyright notice, license text or branding;
   e. use the Software on any computer or account you are not allowed to
      manage.

3. OWNERSHIP

   The Software is licensed, not sold. BitsByBM keeps all rights, title and
   interest in it, including its name, logo, mascot and source code. This
   license gives you no rights other than those stated here.

4. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

   Overkeep is a PC care tool, and several of its features change your
   computer. They delete temporary, cached and downloaded files, empty the
   Recycle Bin, turn startup apps and Windows settings on and off, uninstall
   apps, change power, display, mouse and privacy settings, pause Windows
   Update and services, clear Windows Update's download cache, close apps,
   change browser settings, remove old versions of device drivers from
   Windows' driver store (after backing them up), end and stop
   remote-control programs and their services, run Microsoft Defender scans
   and restart your computer, including into its firmware (BIOS/UEFI)
   settings. With your permission it also installs a helper service that
   runs as SYSTEM, and saves or copies reports about your computer that you
   can choose to share with others.

   Overkeep sends nothing about you or your computer anywhere. Its only
   connection is to https://bitsbybm.com, to check for a new version (a
   request that carries Overkeep's own version number, nothing else) and to
   download one when you ask for it.

   Overkeep tries to keep changes reversible through its Undo center, but
   some changes, such as deleted files and uninstalled apps, can't be undone.
   You are responsible for checking what each action will do before you
   start it, for keeping backups of anything important and for having
   permission to make each change.

   Overkeep's checks, such as the health score, drive health, Scam Shield
   and the download checker, are helpful hints, not guarantees. Overkeep is
   not antivirus software, and a clean result does not mean a computer,
   file, website or person is safe.

5. NO WARRANTY

   THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY
   KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF
   MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND
   NON-INFRINGEMENT. THERE IS NO PROMISE THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE,
   SECURE OR UNINTERRUPTED, THAT IT WILL MAKE YOUR COMPUTER FASTER, OR THAT IT
   WILL WORK ON YOUR COMPUTER.

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

   TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE AUTHOR OR
   BITSBYBM BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL,
   CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS,
   SYSTEM FAILURE OR DAMAGE TO COMPUTERS, FILES OR ACCOUNTS, ARISING FROM THE
   USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY
   OF SUCH DAMAGES. IF ANY LIABILITY IS FOUND DESPITE THIS, IT IS LIMITED TO
   THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE, WHICH IS ZERO. Some places don't
   allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

7. DONATIONS

   Overkeep links to https://ko-fi.com/bitsbybm. A donation is a voluntary
   gift. It doesn't buy a license, support, features or any warranty, and it
   doesn't change these terms.

8. THIRD PARTIES

   The Software works with Microsoft Windows and with web browsers and other
   apps installed on your computer. Overkeep is not made, endorsed or
   supported by Microsoft or by the makers of those apps. Microsoft and
   Windows are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies, and other
   names belong to their owners.

   The Software is built with open-source components, which stay under their
   own licenses. They are listed, with their license texts, in
   THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, installed next to the Software and included in
   the download.

9. UPDATES AND TERMINATION

   New versions may come with updated terms. This license ends automatically
   if you break any of its terms. When it ends, you must stop using the
   Software and delete all copies.

10. WHOLE AGREEMENT

   This is the entire agreement about the Software. If any part of it can't
   be enforced, the rest still applies.
